Scripture Reference: “A good name is to be chosen rather than great riches, loving favor rather than silver and gold.” – Proverbs 22:1 (NKJV)
Perception matters. How customers, employees, and the community view your company can impact its success just as much as the quality of the product or service you offer. Proverbs 22:1 reminds us that a good name—a strong reputation—is more valuable than financial wealth.
Your business may offer the best solutions, but if people perceive it as untrustworthy, unethical, or unreliable, they will hesitate to engage with it. On the other hand, companies that are known for integrity, customer service, and consistency build lasting loyalty.
Jesus understood the power of perception. He asked His disciples, “Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am?”(Matthew 16:13). While Jesus’ identity was unshakable, He knew that how He was perceived would impact His ministry. Likewise, as business leaders, we must be aware of how our actions, branding, and customer interactions shape public perception.
Building a positive perception takes time but can be destroyed in a moment by careless actions. Consistency, honesty, and excellent service are key to maintaining a good reputation. Rather than focusing only on revenue, business owners should invest in building a brand and character that reflect Christ’s principles.
